The Xaverians settled the case for $175,000 in 1993. At least two other accusations of sexual abuse were leveled against Pezzotti in the Boston area.
In the meantime, from 1970 to 2003, Pezzotti was in Brazil, where he worked with the Kayapo Indians.
In a handwritten note of apology to Callander in January 1993, Pezzotti said he had cured himself in the jungle.
"I asked to leave Holliston and go to Brazil to change my life and begin a new life. Upon arrival in Brazil, confiding in God's mercy, I owned up to the problem," Pezzotti wrote. "With divine help, I overcame it."
There is no evidence that Pezzotti, now 75, abused children in Brazil, which has more Catholics than any other nation. Brazilian law enforcement officials said they were unaware of any complaints about him.
The Rev. Robert Maloney, provincial of the Xaverians who worked closely on Callander's settlement, said Pezzotti was allowed to stay in Brazil for another decade and work with children after a psychological evaluation. He added that a Xaverian investigation into Pezzotti and his work in Brazil turned up nothing.
After Pezzotti returned to Italy in 2003, "he was constantly being asked for by Brazil and by the people he worked with," Maloney added.
In 2008, Pezzotti returned to Brazil. A few months later, Callander saw the photos of him on the Internet and complained to the church. The priest was quickly sent back to Italy.
The Xaverian vicar general, Rev. Luigi Menegazzo, said Pezzotti works at Xaverian headquarters in Parma tending to sick and elderly priests. Asked if Pezzotti had any contact with children or public parish work, he said, "Absolutely in no way."Reached by telephone, Pezzotti said only: "I don't see why I have to talk about it. Everything was resolved and I don't feel like talking."

Ne parlammo qualche tempo fa, dopo che grazie all’amico Bill” fummo in grado di scovare, beato e pacifico a Vicenza, don Tully, pardon, il sig. Tully, ex prete, ridotto allo stato laicale dopo la denuncia che ne scaturì. Tully infatti era un pedofilo, con lunghi anni di attività alle spalle e Bill, una delle sue vittime, sicuramente la più coraggiosa visto quanto ha fatto ed ha affrontato per riavere giustizia.
Bill ci segnalò anche don Pezzotti, italiano, italianissimo (di Brescia….), pedofilo che anziché essere stato spostato, che ne so, in una casa di riposo, finì tra gli indios, in Brasile, in una tribù dove i bimbi vanno in giro nudi. E lui beato si faceva fotografare con loro, apparendo così sul bollettino pastorale della sua congregazione.
Pezzotti è tornato in Italia. È a Parma, nella casa dei padri saveriani (stesso ordine di appartenenza di Tully) e si coccupa di adulti (“non ha contatti con bambini” rispondono dalla casa madre) ed ora che grazie a Bill e ad un giornalista della Associated Press, che hanno dedicato gli ultimi mesi a cercarlo, andando finanche in Brasile per raccogliere testimonianze, possiamo tornare a parlarne ed a chiedere ad alta voce che si intervenga su di lui, ridicendolo allo stato laicale.
Nell’ottica di una pulizia assolutamente necessaria.
Sia questa l’occasione per la Santa Sede per dimostrare, con i fatti, la sua voglia di pulizia, rinascita e vicinanza alle vere vittime……

p.p.s.: l’investigazione della Associated Press non si è fermata a lui: ha scovato 30 preti scappati dagli Usa e rifugiati in posti che li mettessero a contatto con i bambini, spesso nelle missioni dove molti di loro son tornati ad abusare.
